Biography
Dr. Rogers is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has advanced the practice of gynecologic cancer medicine at Virginia Oncology Associates (VOA) since 2004. Prior to joining VOA, she served as Staff Gynecologic Oncologist and Gynecologic Oncology Division Director at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Portsmouth, Virginia.
Dr. Rogers received a Masters in Nutrition from New York City’s prestigious Columbia University. She received her Medical Doctor degree from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine, Burlington, Vermont. Her Internship and Residency were completed at Naval Hospital San Diego, San Diego, California; her Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship was completed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC.
Dr. Rogers is a proponent of academics and research.Her research on leiomyosarcoma and stage distribution of cervical cancer, among other topics, has been presented during the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Armed Forces District’s annual meetings. It can also be found in such publications as Cancer and Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Rogers remains committed to research with ongoing projects, including pathways in ovarian cancer cell lines and the effect of Vitamin B Complex in the treatment of chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy, among others.
