Biography
Dr. Radkar served the United States Army for 12 years at various posts, including Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Darnall Army Community Hospital, Fort Hood, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC, and, most recently, San Antonio Military Medical Center, San Antonio, where she served as staff Hematologist/Oncologist for a fellowship training program.
Dr. Radkar is was involved with academics and research, having served as Associate Professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center and teaching staff in the Hematology-Oncology fellowship training program at San Antonio Military Medical Center which entails Brooke Army Medical Center and Lackland Air Force Hospital. She was Principal Investigator for STAR Study (Study of Tamoxifen and Raloxifene for the Prevention of Breast Cancer).
Dr. Radkar’s work has been published in highly regarded medical journals, including International Biodeterioration and Biodegradation, Hawaii Medical Journal and Cancer Research. Her work has even been presented at national congresses, including American College of Physicians (ACP) annual meeting in San Antonio, TX, as well as Hawaii ACP annual meeting.
Dr. Radkar has received numerous accolades. For her research, she received the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) Bench To Bedside Award at the National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute. She’s was also awarded $25,000 for an NIH project exploring Renal Cell Carcinoma.
For her dedicated service to the United States Armed Forces, Dr. Radkar received 2 commendation medals for service in both Operation Enduring Freedom, Kuwait and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Balad, Iraq. She also received the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, as well as an Overseas Service Ribbon.
Dr. Radkar is an active member of the ACP, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
